Regional Stakeholder Forums
The Regional Stakeholder Forum acts as a platform for an open and constructive dialogue on emerging issues in the Mekong River Basin. Through the Forum, the MRC Member Countries and other stakeholders such as development partners, non-governmental organisations, the private sector, media, communities and other interested groups have an opportunity to share information, discuss, exchange views and address mutual concerns on the reasonable and equitable use of water and related resources in the Mekong River Basin.
During key Regional Stakeholder Forums, the Joint Committee also meets openly with stakeholders and the public to hear their concerns. The MRC Secretariat also engages in specific targeted meetings with different types of stakeholders and interest groups. Finally, the National Mekong Committee of each Member Country holds national forums and meetings with stakeholders inside the country on the MRC and Mekong affairs.
